Most things you do in life have both long term and short term consequences.  You need to start looking at things in the long term.

Don't exercise purely for cosmetic reasons.  Think of the long term health effects too. In 20 years time you will see your friends  succumbing to the dramatic effects of ageing. Keep fit now and and you will be thankful down the line.

Plus you will look many years younger than you age suggests, won't it be nice to have someone say you look younger than you are, and actually mean it!
