Over the years I have concluded that consistency, safety, enjoyability and practicality are key for long term health and fitness so they are paramount in my personal training philosophy.

Level 4 Execise Specialist based in Aylesbury with over 30 years experience in the fitness industry.

I am a Personal Trainer, Pilates teacher, Low Back Pain Exercise Specialist, Cardiac Exercise Specialist and Nutritional Advisor based in Aylesbury, Bucks.I have been involved with exercise since 1987, despite some memories of school PE that I would rather forget.

During this time I have had many ups and downs some of which you may be able to identify with; slowly gaining weight and then struggling to lose several stone, overtraining, and crippling back and shoulder pain that would not go away whatever I seemed to try. Then spending large amounts of money on physios and supplements these seemed to work for a while but the problems alaway returned.

On top of that I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and my exercise tolerance became and still is very low. Was the tiredness and pain from the exercise or the conditions? Did I cause this fatigue by trying to 'power through' ?

Pilates and mindfulness became my new best friends. I could focus on breath, precision, and alignment while slowly building up my tolerance to more intense exercise. In time I learnt to teach pilates and then Yoga too. They are still main go-to's.

I learnt exercise can be enjoyable and fun even-it doesn't have to take up much time at all. I eliminated all unnecessary exercise from my life. I  discovered how to pace exercise and you'd be suprised at how little is needed.

Believe me when I say just two or three short enjoyable workouts a week, and small changes to your nutrition, can completely transform the way you look and feel.

                       Strength, Flexibilty and Mobility

You need all three to be truly fit and pain free. It is often hard to find out what you need to do to improve these areas. Or where to start!

The programmes analyse posture - correcting muscle imbalances, to help alleviate common conditions such as back and shoulder pain. An emphasis on flow of movement and body alignment will increase your flexibilty and perfect your movement patterns for greater mobility- there should be strength in all you ranges of motion- flexibilty alone is not enough; whether if the exercise is a gentle stretch or squat this applies.

Correct spinal alignmnet and flexibily is of utmost importance and is the key to keeping young and healthy!

Breathing techniques are used to reduce tension and stress alongside unlocking the tight muscles that drain emotional energy such as the psoas hip flexion muscle, typically locked from seated and sedentary lifestyle.

Straight forward non- complicated nutrition advice for long lasting weight loss- no need to measure and weigh food here, just sensible eating!
